


Mhire's provocative and often disturbing hyperfaces are the result of a series of photographic portraits he took of more than thirty Louisiana artists. While preparing the digital files for printing, he began to manipulate the images, and a body of twisted, twirled and refracted portraits was born. The series of manipulations, both technical and aesthetic, have transformed the subjects into horrific, hilarious, stupefying and endearing characters.
